调查数据分析表明，阴囊温度上升，主要是受身体姿势和手提电脑所产生的热量影响。即使只是将电脑置于双膝之上，男性体内的阴囊温度也会上升2.1摄氏度，如果打开电脑，将电脑置于右边膝盖，则阴囊温度上升2.8摄氏度，置于左侧则上升2.6摄氏度。但是究竟使用多长时间才能确定对身体产生危害，尚无结论。
