治疗阳痿圣药「威而钢」（即「伟哥」）面世後，一药风行，蠃得了全球患者的喝采和追捧，卖个满堂红；不过，「伟哥」一家独大的好景日子可能不长了，因为号称疗效更佳、更安全的三种治阳痿新药，即将相继推出 场，与「伟哥」一争长短。
新药除了为普通患者带来更多的选择之外，也为飞机师带来了喜讯。目前，大多数航空公司禁止机师在起飞前六小时服用「伟哥」，因为它会损害眼晴分辨蓝和绿色的能力，危害飞机安全。但新药据称不存在这种副作用。
预料抢先与「伟哥」展开较量的，是由美国雅培（Abbot Laboratories）研发的Uprima，估计半年内即推出 场。
舌头溶化二十分钟见功
据称，Uprima比「伟哥」优胜之处是，它只须放在舌头溶化而毋须吞服，二十分钟後即可令阳具勃起；而「伟哥」则吞服最少一小时後才能产生效力。
另一挑战者是，由Eli Lilly制药厂研发的IC351，效用与「伟哥」相似，但生产商声称它比「伟哥」产生更少副作用，预期明年可提出销售申请。
第三名挑战者是Vasomax，该新药去年曾被广泛报道大出风头，原定一九九九年上 发售，却因被美国主管机构发现有副作用，而须再进行十八个月临床测试。生产商期望在数月内可再次申请检验，以便尽快推出 场。
