　　新华网里约热内卢7月12日电(记者陈威华高鹏)国际奥委会荣誉主席萨马兰奇12日在里约热内卢说，2007年泛美运动会的成功与否对这个城市申办2016年奥运会十分重要。

　　87岁的萨马兰奇当天对新闻界表示：“显而易见，里约热内卢申办2016年奥运会的成功几率在很大程度上取决于本次泛美运动会。”

　　曾执掌国际奥委会21年的萨马兰奇还表示，到目前为止，里约给他留下了“非常美好的印象”，但是真正的考验将是13日泛美运动会正式开幕后，那时候才能看出组织者的真正能力。

　　西班牙首都马德里也是2016年奥运会的申办城市。身为

西班牙人的萨马兰奇表示，他将会全力支持马德里获得奥运会主办权，但是他希望马德里和里约将是“友好竞争”的关系。
